Meet the Finalists: Mélange
>> Thursday, 28 June 2012
Over the next two weeks, we'll be introducing you to the Nom Nom Nom 2012 finalists, so you can get to know them a little better and find out what inspires their culinary efforts. First off it's Selina and Sumayya from the Mélange team.
Selina from Yummy Choo Eats
What makes you two the perfect NomNomNom pairing?
Two passionate foodies, on a mission to spread the love of our respective ethnic cuisines, of which not much is known!
Sumayya from Pukka Paki
What do you love about the cuisine/cuisines that you have chosen to represent in NomNomNom 2012?
We love that our menu showcases a cross cultural mix of Pakistani spicy, hauntingly rich aromas and Mauritian Creole accents – these give rise to a blend of two very distinct cuisines which blend together very effectively due to their underlining similarities in use of spices
If you were marooned on a desert island which ingredient could you not live without?
Cumin - adds warmth to anything, savoury and sweet dishes!
What’s your favourite social media tool / network when it comes to food? How does it help with the food you cook or eat out?
Twitter – great networking, helps share my recipes ideas to other foodies out there – helps getting restaurant recommendations too!
And finally, what is the special element that will ensure that your team wins?
Ensuring that the blend of flavours of our dishes go down well with the judges!
We wish Team Melange the very best of luck in the contest on the 8th July and look forward to introducing more teams soon.
