Entries have closed & Friday Thank You's
>> Friday, 1 July 2011
Thanks to everyone who entered Nom Nom Nom 2011. Over the weekend we'll have the enjoyable task of looking through the menus and choosing the lucky finalists, so watch this space for the announcement.
In the meantime I would like to thank people who have been (or certainly will be) so generous with their time and support.
Firstly our illustrious Judges. It's an absolutely stellar panel and looks set to be one of the best we've ever had. So big thanks to Susan Low, deputy editor of delicious magazine, Darryl Healy, Executive Chef of Riding House Cafe; Julia Parsons, founder of UK Food Bloggers Association; Tom Pemberton, Head Chef of Hereford Road; Jenni Muir freelance food writer (MasterChef's John Torode (more on him later) called her the 'best editor in the world'); Nicola Batavia, the Michelin starred Italian chef who has just opened his first restaurant in London - Casa Batavia (check out Evening Standard's review from yesterday) and of course Ros Rathouse & Claudine Watt from Cookery School.
You can find out more about all the Nom Nom Nom judges here.
A big thanks to Action Against Hunger who are doing sterling work in supporting our fundraising efforts for them.
Yesterday they wrote: "We are thrilled that Nom Nom Nom has returned for its fourth year and has yet again chosen to support Action Against Hunger. It is always such a fun event which puts food bloggers in the position of a chef for a change! Our Love Food Give Food campaign is all about taking people's passion for food and turning it into action against hunger and the participants at Nom Nom Nom really embrace this concept. We hope that all the wannabe chefs have a brilliant time in the kitchen and raise as much as possible to help us fight child malnutrition."
Finally, a BIG thanks to all of the prize sponsors and supporters who you can see listed on the right hand column of this site. They are either donating prizes for the online charity raffle or gifts for the finalists' goody bags or prizes for the winners (in some cases all three! If you'd like to support Nom Nom Nom 2011, there's still time as we're still in talks with a number of food, drinks and kitchen appliance brands who want to help. Please email info@nomnomnom.co.uk if you or a client would like to get involved.
As it's Friday, I wanted to end this post with a video that many of you have probably seen, but I couldn't resist sharing something that puts the fun back into food. Food is a serious business, lack of food is even more (which is why we're committed to support Action Against Hunger) but we like to think it can be fun too. Enjoy!
